Our Mission & Vision

There is no doubt where the world stands with Jesus Christ. The wrong and sin going on in the world is evident. Our goal at Lonoke Baptist Church is to make sure the world knows where we stand with Jesus: closely following Him and His Word.

Scripture makes clear the Kingdom of God is our number one priority. We work to accomplish this task in ways people are able to come along and join in. God chooses to work through His churches and we feel honored and privileged to work alongside the Creator of this world.

Leadership Team:

Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and understands we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.

Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Lonoke is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Lonoke members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as watching kids during Worship to taking the gospel to the Nursing Homes and communities. There is a place for everyone at Lonoke Baptist Church!

Bus Ministry

This is a world full of kids who are not able to come to church for various reasons and circumstances. We want to be sure every child is able to hear about God’s Love and see it in action in their lives. We run our buses on Sunday Morning and Wednesday Evening and there is always room for you to come on and serve as a Driver or Rider.

Evangelism Encouragement

God made it very clear what the mission of the church and Christians were: TAKE THE GOSPEL TO THE WORLD. This mission is what drives everything we do here at Lonoke. It is hard at times to know how to witness whether it is to a family member or complete stranger. You can get involved in our 12-week class to learn and grow in the gospel and soul-winning. It will definitely change your life!

Golden Girls

This is a special group of ladies at Lonoke. Any lady over 65 years of age is in this group and they have a special bond and connection. They take trips, go out to eat and are generally there for each other on a regular basis. They also serve around the church. They lead out in visiting area Nursing Homes on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month. This is a special group of ladies.

Mens & Ladies Ministries

Fellowship is an important component for any Christian especially fellowship with the same gender. The men of Lonoke meet on the second Saturday morning of every month for breakfast. This begins at 7:00. The ladies meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday night of every month for fellowship and in-depth Bible Study. These are precious times of fellowship that are important for the heart of the people at Lonoke.

Sunday Children’s Ministries

In order to give our children the best Bible teaching possible, Lonoke holds a children’s church service in conjunction with the main service. There is a Nursery for infants and toddlers up to 2 years old. We have Children’s Church (ages 3-1st grade) that meets in the Educational Wing. 252 Kids Church (2nd grade-4th grade) meets on the Life Center floor. These are wonderful ministries to have your kids involved in and also great places to serve.

Roots

During the school year, Lonoke runs a Wednesday night ministry called Roots. This is a program designed for ages 3-6th grade and focuses on teaching the kids God’s Word. There is a lot of opportunity to serve in Roots whether it be check-in, volunteer, small group leader and so much more!. This is a rich ministry that is always in need of more volunteers.

Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Lonoke Baptist Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday morning at 8:30, there is a prayer meeting to start the day and make sure everything is given to God. Throughout the week, volunteers to our Prayer Warriors team, pray for their pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs.

Gospel Beginnings

One of the greatest topics a pastor gets to preach about is the gospel. One of the greatest things any one of God’s children get to talk about is the gospel. The gospel is the only source of eternal life with God. Not only is the gospel life-giving, it is also life-sustaining. It is the only source of peace, hope, and joy in this cruel world we live in.

Where does the gospel beginning though? If we were to poll Christians, many would automatically be taken to Genesis 3. This  sets …

Mind-Boggling

Can I give you an impossible task? Take a few moments and think on the eternity of Jesus. He was never created! He has no beginning. Even when there was nothing at all, Christ was there. We can rack our minds around this for not only hours but for our lifetime.

Scripture makes it clear that Jesus has always been. In an incredible few verses at the beginning of John, he makes it clear that Christ, part of the God-head, has always been and then explains what that means for us. Read Joh …

God Is Good

I have had a long Sunday with my church family and I would love to tell you some of the highlights. God did an awesome work during Morning Worship and helped 4 kids tell the world what God has done in them by obediently following God in baptism. My church family showered my wife and I with many gifts for our new baby boy coming in May. To top the night, they surprised us with a celebration fellowship for our 10 years being here at Lonoke.

Why am I telling you this? I just want you to …

What’s Coming Up At Lonoke…

Month of February

The month of February is going to start leading our hearts in the new season Lonoke is heading into. Next month, we move into our new sanctuary and our hearts and minds need to be focused on the right things. Come and be a part of God’s next chapter at Lonoke as the story continues.

Upwards Games

Lonoke’s Upward Basketball Ministry will continue basketball games on Saturdays at 9:00 and 10:00. This is a great ministry to be involved in as we teach kids about Jesus and life lessons through the game of basketball.

Men’s Breakfast

On Saturday morning, February 6 at 7:00, the men of Lonoke will be meeting in the Life Center for breakfast. This is a great time for food and fellowship with other men. All men are encouraged to come and fellowship and be a part of what God is doing!

How Do I Meet People?

Lonoke Baptist Church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at Lonoke.

Sunday School

Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, Lonoke Baptist Church has Sunday School held every Sunday morning at 9:00. The classes are divided into age groups while others are based on topic or gender. Each class is geared toward helping everyone in the class connect on a deeper level with God and with each other!

Youth Ministry

Each Sunday morning, children get to participate in their own classes. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. Each of the class teachers is carefully screened and thoroughly trained in children’s instruction. Children’s Church (age 3-1st Grade) meets during Morning Worship in the Educational Wing. 252 Kids Church (2nd Grade-4th Grade) meets during Morning Worship in the Life Center.

Young Adults

Life can get complicated once you cross that nebulous threshold into adulthood. There are complicated decisions. Bigger stakes. Serious relationships. And a whole lot more decisions. The Pairs/Spares Class of Lonoke Baptist Church provides a welcoming atmosphere for college and early-career aged young people.

Women’s Group

Lonoke Baptist Church’s Ladies Fellowship gives the ladies in our church family special times of interaction. Our women’s groups,  which meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday nights of the month, are times of Bible study, prayer & fellowship. These groups provide a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the women in the church.

Men’s Fellowship

The men of Lonoke spend the 2nd Saturday morning of every month having breakfast in the kitchen at church. This is a special time of fellowship, encouragement & accountability. It is important for men to be around other men so we are sharpen each other, as the book of Proverbs says.

Senior Saints

Once you get to that special age, the fun has just begin. Whether retired, just plain tired, or active as ever, the Senior Saints of Lonoke Baptist Church provides refreshment, ministry, and times of valuable interaction. Lonoke is a place for people of all ages to come and find their place!
